साहित्यकार मितरों से मिलने का मौका

मैं दोपहर का भोजन बना रहा था कि इसी बीच फोन की घंटी घनघना उठी। फोन को देखा तो स्क्रीन पर साहित्यिक मित्र मुकेश नौटियाल का नाम डिस्प्ले हो रहा था। हाथ गीले आटे से सने थे, इसलिए फोन उठाया नहीं। सोचा, भोजन करने के बाद वापस काल करूंगा। हालांकि, भोजन करने के बाद यह बात मेरी स्मृति से ओझल हो गई और दसेक मिनट आराम करने की चाह में मैं बिस्तर पर लेट गया। बाहर हल्की बूंदाबांदी चाल रही थी। लग रहा था कि कुछ ही देर में मोटी बारिश आने वाली है। बावजूद इसके उमस बेहाल किए दे रही थी। हालांकि, पंखे की हवा में कुछ क्षण बाद ही मेरी आंख लग गई।

लेटे हुए मुझे बामुश्किल पांच मिनट हुए होंगे कि फोन की घंटी फिर बजने लगी। मुकेश भाई का नाम ही डिस्प्ले हो रहा था। अबकी फोन उठाने में मैंने कोई विलंब नहीं किया। दुआ-सलाम के बाद मुकेश भाई सीधे विषय पर आते हुए बोले- "भाई साहब! नौ तारीख आपको थोडा़ वक्त निकालना है, परिचर्चा के लिए। आपको तो पता ही है कि महादेवी वर्मा का उत्तराखंड से गहरा नाता रहा है। लंबा अर्सा उन्होंने रामगढ़ में गुजारा और साहित्य को नई ऊंचाइयां दीं।"

"बिल्कुल। महादेवी को मैं तो उत्तराखंड की ही कवियत्री मानता हूं"- मैंने कहा।

"इसीलिए तो मैं चाहता हूं कि उनके बहाने हम भी उत्तराखंड में महादेवी की साहित्यिक यात्रा पर कुछ देर चर्चा कर लें। सोमवारी लाल उनियाल जी भी आ रहे हैं, उनसे बात हो गई है। परसों ही रिकार्डिंग भी हो जाएगी"- मुकेश भाई बोले ।

"रिकार्डिंग कहां"- मैंने सवाल किया।

"दूरदर्शन में। 11 सितंबर को महादेवी की पुण्य तिथि है। उसी दिन इसका प्रसारण भी हो जाएगा"- मुकेश भाई ने कहा।

मैंने परिचर्चा का समय पूछा तो मुकेश भाई बोले- "दिन में दो बजे बैठ जाएंगे। आप आफिस किस समय जाते हैं?"

"तीन बजे के आसपास। क्या हम एक बजे से नहीं बैठ सकते। वैसे अगर दस तारीख को बैठते तो ज्यादा बेहतर रहता"- मैंने कहा।

"भाई साहब! दस को तो स्टूडियो खाली नहीं मिल पाएगा, दिन के वक्त। इसलिए नौ तारीख ही रिकार्डिंग के लिए बेहतर रहेगी"- मुकेश भाई ने कहा।

"फिर ठीक है, नौ तारीख को ही बैठ लेते हैं। वैसे थोडा़ टाइम मिल जाता तो परिचर्चा में गंभीरता आ जाती"- मैंने कहा।

"क्या बात कर रहे हो भाई साहब! आप तो जो भी कहेंगे, वह प्रासंगिक ही होगा। बाकी महादेवी और महादेवी सृजन पीठ के बारे में आपको जानकारी है ही। ...तो मैं पक्का समझूं ना। आप दोपहार साढे़ बारह बजे दूरदर्शन पहुंच जाना, वहीं मुलाकात होती है फिर। थोडी़ देर में मैं आपको प्रश्नोत्तरी भी वाट्सएप कर दूंगा"- मुकेश भाई बोले।

इसके बाद हमने एक-दूसरे से विदा ली। अब में आफिस जाने की तैयारी करने लगा। मुकेश भाई ने बडी़ जिम्मेदारी सौंपी थी, इसलिए हल्का-फुल्का तनाव होना स्वाभाविक था। अच्छा भी लग रहा था कि कुछ तो ज्ञानवर्धन होगा और पुराने मितरों से मुलाकात के साथ कुछ नए मित्र भी मिल जाएंगे। इस बीच वाट्सएप पर मुकेश भाई की भेजी प्रश्नोत्तरी भी आ गई। देखकर कुछ संतोष हुआ। सोचा, आफिस जाकर नेट से महादेवी के बारे में जानकारी डाउनलोड कर उसका अध्ययन कर लूंगा। इसी बहाने कुछ ज्ञान भी बढ़ जाएगा।

इस समय मैं महादेवी के बारे में ही अध्ययन कर रहा हूं। सचमुच कितना विराट फलक है उनके साहित्य का। मैं आज तक रामगढ़ तो नहीं गया, लेकिन महादेवी को पढ़कर नैनीताल से 25 किमी दूर रामगढ़ के उमागढ़ नामक गांव की जो तस्वीर मेरे मानस पटल पर उभर रही है, वह इतनी आकर्षक है कि वर्णन करने के लिए शब्द नहीं मिल रहे। रामगढ़ कार्बेट टाइगर रिजर्व से लगा हुआ इलाका है। अधिकांश पर्यटक यहीं से पार्क में प्रवेश करते हैं।

फिर यहां स्थित महादेवी का आवास "मीरा कुटीर" तो साहित्यकारों का तीर्थ है। वर्तमान में इसे "महादेवी सृजन पीठ" के नाम से जाना जाता है। यहां हर वर्ष देशभर के साहित्यकार जुटते हैं और साहित्य की समृद्धि के लिए मंथन करते हैं। खैर! फिलहाल रात काफी हो गई है, इसलिए आगे की चर्चा कल करेंगे। शुभ रात्रि!!

Opportunity to meet literary friends

I was preparing lunch when the phone rang in the meantime.  When I looked at the phone, the name of literary friend Mukesh Nautiyal was being displayed on the screen.  Hands were covered with wet dough, so did not pick up the phone.  Thought I would call back after having food.  However, after having my meal, this thing disappeared from my memory and I lay on the bed, wanting to rest for ten minutes.  It was raining lightly outside.  It looked like a heavy rain was going to come soon.  Despite this, the heat was making it miserable.  However, after a few moments in the air of the fan, my eye caught.

It must have been barely five minutes when I was lying down that the phone started ringing again.  Only Mukesh Bhai's name was being displayed.  I didn't take any delay in picking up the phone now.  After the blessings, Mukesh Bhai came straight to the subject and said - "Brother! You have to take some time out for discussion on the ninth day. You know that Mahadevi Verma has a deep connection with Uttarakhand. For a long time, he had worked in Ramgarh.  I lived and gave new heights to literature."

"Absolutely. I consider Mahadevi to be a poetess of Uttarakhand"- I said.

"That's why I want us to discuss Mahadevi's literary journey in Uttarakhand on her pretext for sometime.  .

"Where's the recording?" I asked.

"In Doordarshan. September 11 is the death anniversary of Mahadevi. It will also be telecast on the same day"- Mukesh Bhai said.

When I asked the time of discussion, Mukesh Bhai said - "Will sit down at two o'clock in the day. What time do you go to the office?"

"Around three o'clock. Can't we sit from one o'clock. Well, it would have been better if we had sat on the tenth"- I said.

"Bhai sahab! Dus ko toh studio will not be able to get empty, during the day time. So only 9th would be better for recording"- said Mukesh Bhai.

"Okay then, let's sit down on the 9th only. By the way, if we had got some time, the discussion would have become serious" - I said.

"What are you talking about, brother! Whatever you say, it will be relevant. You have information about the rest of Mahadevi and Mahadevi Srijan Peeth. ... So I am sure I am not sure. You reach Doordarshan at 12.30 in the afternoon.  Go, there we meet again. In a while I will also WhatsApp you the quiz"- Mukesh Bhai said.

After that we bid farewell to each other.  Now I started preparing to go to the office.  Mukesh Bhai had entrusted a huge responsibility, so it was natural to have slight tension.  It was also felt that there would be some enlightenment and along with meeting old friends, some new friends would also be found.  Meanwhile, the quiz sent by Mukesh Bhai also arrived on WhatsApp.  There was some satisfaction to see.  Thought I would go to the office and study it after downloading information about Mahadevi from the net.  Some knowledge will also increase on this pretext.

At present I am studying only about Mahadevi.  Really, what a huge pane of his literature.  I have not visited Ramgarh till today, but after reading Mahadevi, the picture of Ramgarh emerging on my mind is so fascinating that words cannot be found to describe it.  Ramgarh is an area adjacent to the Corbett Tiger Reserve.  Most tourists enter the park from here.

Then Mahadevi's residence "Mira Kutir" located here is a pilgrimage for litterateurs.  Presently it is known as "Mahadevi Srijan Peeth".  Every year litterateurs from all over the country gather here and churn for the prosperity of literature.  So!  It has been enough night for the time being, so we will discuss further tomorrow.  Good night!!
