महीनेभर कोई खास गतिविधि नहीं हुई। बस! घर से आफिस और आफिस से घर। बीच में दो-चार दिन प्रेस क्लब भी। इस दौरान क्लब की त्रैमासिक पत्रिका "गुलदस्ता" के वार्षिकांक निकालने पर विशेष रूप से चर्चा हुई, लेकिन सामूहिक रूप से तय यह हुआ कि आठ नवंबर को दीपावली महोत्सव के बाद ही इस पर काम शुरू करेंगे। इस बार दीपावली 14 नवंबर को पड़ रही है, इसलिए मुझे भी इस आयोजन में हिस्सा लेने का मौका मिल गया। जबकि, बीते वर्षों के दौरान दीपावली महोत्सव ज्योति पर्व से दो दिन पहले आयोजित किया जाता रहा है। इस दौरान मैं छुट्टी पर अपने घर कोटद्वार में होता हूं। इन दिनों भी मैं छुट्टी पर ही हूं।

दीपावली महोत्सव के अगले दिन यानी नौ नवंबर को मैं कोटद्वार पहुंचा। इस दिन मेरा साप्ताहिक अवकाश भी होता है। अब हफ्ताभर कोटद्वार में रहूंगा। इसके बाद वापस लौटकर "गुलदस्ता" के वार्षिकांक पर काम करना है। कोशिश रहेगी कि दस दिसंबर से पूर्व पत्रिका छपने के लिए प्रेस में चली जाए, क्योंकि इसके बाद नई कार्यकारिणी के चुनाव की तैयारियां शुरू हो जाएंगी। लेकिन, फिलहाल ये पांच-छह दिन परिवार के साथ सुकून से गुजारने के हैं। फिर तो वही नौकरी का रुटीन। पूरी तरह न दिन अपना, न रात ही। आप सोच रहे होंगे कि ये क्या बात हुई, पर सच यही है। असल में मेरी ड्यूटी अपराह्न तीन बजे के बाद शुरू होती है और रूम में पहुंचते-पहुंचते रात के बारह बज ही जाते हैं।

खैर! मुझे इस सबका कोई अफसोस नहीं है, क्योंकि पत्रकारिता  की यह राह मैंने स्वयं चुनी थी। हालांकि, वर्तमान में यह राह मेरे जैसे लोगों के लिए नहीं है, पर चलना समय की जरूरत है और मैं इसी भाव से इस पर आगे बढ़ रहा हूं। हालांकि, यह पूरा साल कोरोना महामारी की भेंट चढ़ गया, लेकिन सृजन के लिहाज से मैं इसे बेहतरीन साल मानता हूं और संयोग से समाज एवं साहित्य की बेहतरी के लिए मुझे भी योगदान करने का मौका मिला। क्लब की पत्रिका "गुलदस्ता" इसी की परिणति है। इसके माध्यम से मुझे कई अच्छे लोगों से मिलने का मौका मिला और भविष्य के लिए उम्मीदों के द्वार भी खुले।

There was no significant activity throughout the month.  enough!  Home to office and office to home.  Two or four days press club in between.  During this time, the club's quarterly magazine "Guldasta" was specially discussed to be released, but it was decided collectively that they will start work on this day only after the Deepawali Festival on November 8.  This time Deepawali is falling on 14 November, so I also got a chance to participate in this event.  Whereas, during the past years, Deepavali Festival has been held two days before the Jyoti festival.  During this time I am on leave at my house in Kotdwar.  These days I am still on vacation.

I reached Kotdwar on the next day of Deepawali festival i.e. November 9.  I also have a weekly off on this day.  Now I will stay in Kotdwar for a week.  Then return and work on the annulus of the "Guldasta".  Efforts will be made to go to the press to publish the magazine before December 10, because after this, preparations will start for the election of the new executive.  But at present, these five-six days are to be relaxed with the family.  Then the same job routine.  Neither the day nor the night.  You may be wondering what happened, but this is the truth.  Actually, my duty starts after 3 pm and it is twelve o'clock in the night by reaching the room.

Well!  I have no regrets for all this, because I had chosen this path of journalism myself.  However, at present this path is not for people like me, but walking is the need of the hour and I am moving forward with this feeling.  Although, this whole year was lost to the corona epidemic, but in terms of creation, I consider it a great year and incidentally I got a chance to contribute for the betterment of society and literature.  The club's magazine "Guldasta" is the culmination of this.  Through this I got the chance to meet many good people and also opened the doors of expectations for the future.
