भला मेडिकल स्टोर भी किसी को प्रिय होता है, सिवाय उसके मालिक के। पर, मुझे है और वह भी अपने मुहल्ले के पास वाला। मेरे कमरे से ज्यादा से ज्यादा दो सौ मीटर के फासले पर होगा। अक्सर मेरा उधर से गुजरना होता रहता है, इसलिए एक निगाह मेडिकल स्टोर के काउंटर पर जरूर डाल लेता हूं। दवा की एक गोली भी लेनी हो तो कदम खुद-ब-खुद उधर का रुख कर लेते हैं। अगर वहां दवा न हो तो मैं यह पूछना नहीं भूलता कि कब तक आएगी। साथ ही खुद उत्तर भी दे देता हूं, "कल-परसों तो आ ही जाएगी।"

पता है क्यों? दरअसल मेडिकल स्टोर की मालिक एक खूबसूरत महिला है। हालांकि, ज्यादा समय उसका पति ही वहां बैठता है, लेकिन दुकान का लाइसेंस पत्नी के नाम से ही है। इसलिए रोजाना दो-तीन घंटे वो दुकान पर अवश्य गुजारती है। वैसे आती तो वो पति के लिए खाना लेकर है, लेकिन लौटने की कोई जल्दी नहीं रहती। उसका बात करने का लहजा भी गजब का है। खासकर दवा देते वक्त उसका कहा एक-एक शब्द तन-मन को सुकून का अहसास करा देता है। ऐसा लगता है, मानो दवा के साथ दुआ भी दे रही हो।

निश्चित रूप से आपको भी उसके बारे में जानने की उत्सुकता होगी।...तो चलिए बता ही देता हूं, मेरा भी मन का बोझ कुछ हल्का हो जाएगा। हालांकि, मुझे उसका पता ठिकाना कुछ मालूम नहीं है। मैंने जानने की कभी कोशिश भी नहीं की। हां, पर वह मुझे पसंद बहुत है। 43-44 साल से कम उम्र की नहीं होगी। भरा-भरा शरीर, लेकिन किसी सांचे में ढला हुआ सा। सम्मोहन बिखेरती आंखें, मुस्कराते होंठ, घने-लंबे बाल, दायें हाथ में गोल्डन कलर की खूबसूरत घडी़ और कानों में गाल का स्पर्श करते कुंडल उसे और भी आकर्षक बनाते हैं।
गाहे-बगाहे मेडिकल स्टोर पर जाने के कारण मेरी अब दोनों पति-पत्नी से अच्छी जान-पहचान हो गई है। इस बहाने थोडा़ इधर-उधर की बातें भी हो जाती हैं। शहर से बाहर होने के कारण जब मैं काफी दिनों बाद दुकान पर जाता हूं तो वो सवाल जरूर करती है, "कहां चले गए थे आप, दिखे नहीं इतने दिनों।" अब आप ही बताइए, आखिर ऐसा अपनापन कौन दिखाता है। कुछ तो ऐसा है, जो हम एक-दूसरे को देखना चाहते हैं। महसूस करना चाहते हैं।

So she must spend two or three hours every day at the shop. By the way, she has brought food for her husband, but there is no hurry to return. The tone of his talk is also wonderful. Especially while giving the medicine, every single word he says makes the body feel relaxed. It is as if you are praying with medicine.
Surely you too will be anxious to know about him… so let me tell you, my mind will also be lightened. However, I do not know his whereabouts. I never even tried to know.
