हरिद्वार कुंभ का पहला शाही स्नान

मौनी अमावस्या पर कुंभ का पहला शाही स्नान संपन्न हो चुका है। हम (मैं और छायाकार साथी राजेश बड़थ्वाल) भी थके-हारे होटल में लौटे हैं। पूरे 12 घंटे खडे़-खडे़ गुजारने पडे़। इसमें से नौ घंटे तो हरकी पैडी़ पर गुजरे। फिर आफिस पहुंचकर खबरें लिखीं। ऐसे में होटल पहुंचते-पहुंचते साढे़ नौ बज गए। खाना आज भी हम आफिस के पास वाले होटल से ही पैक कराकर लाए। अब थोडा़ आराम महसूस हो रहा है। हालांकि, ये हमारे लिए कोई नई बात नहीं है। 2010 के कुंभ में तो हम थककर चूर हो जाया करते थे, तब भी सांस लेने की फुर्सत नहीं मिलती थी।

बहरहाल! आज भोर होते ही हम हरकी पैडी़ की ओर निकल पडे़ थे। शाही स्नान पौने दस बजे से शुरू होना था, इसलिए पहुंचने की जल्दबाजी नहीं थी। हमने रात को तय कर दिया था कि पहले निरंजनी अखाड़े की छावनी में जाकर वहां स्नान के लिए जाने की तैयारियों का जायजा लेंगे। क्योंकि, स्नान क्रम में पहला नंबर निरंजनी अखाडे़ का ही था। इस अखाडे़ में जूना अखाडे़ के बाद सबसे ज्यादा नागा संन्यासी माने जाते हैं। सो, चल पडे़ अखाडे़ की छावनी की ओर। दुपहिया-चौपहिया वाहन ले जाने पर कुंभ मेला प्रशासन ने रोक लगाई हुई थी, इसलिए प्रेस से होने के बावजूद पुलिस ने हमें स्कूटी नहीं ले जाने दी। हमने भी स्कूटी कनखल के प्रवेश द्वार से पहले फ्लाईओवर के नीचे एक कोने पर खडी़ की और चल पडे़ पहली मंजिल की ओर।

अखाडे़ में नागा संन्यासी सज-धज रहे थे। नागा संन्यासियों का श्रृंगार भस्म (राख) है, इसलिए जिधर नजर दौडा़ई, नागा तन पर राख मलते नजर आए। बम-बम भोले का उद्घोष चारों दिशाओं में गूंज रहा था, सो हम सीधे छावनी के भीतर जा धमके। कैमरे में  कुछ मनमाफिक तस्वीरें उतारीं। कुछ देर वहां के माहौल को निहारा और फिर देहरादून हाइवे से होकर हरकी पैडी़ का रुख किया। तकरीबन आधा घंटे बाद हम हरकी पैडी़ पहुंच गए। पुलिस, पैरा मिलिट्री फोर्स व पत्रकारों के अलावा वहां कोई नजर नहीं आ रहा था। शाही स्नान ब्रह्मकुंड में होना था, इसलिए पूरे घाट की सफाई की जा रही थी। हम ब्रह्मकुंड के इस ओर मालवीय द्वीप पर खडे़ थे। वहीं मीडिया के लिए कवरेज प्वाइंट बनाया गया था।

ठीक पौने दस बजे शाही अंदाज में लाव-लश्कर के साथ निरंजनी अखाडे़ ने हरकी पैडी़ में प्रवेश किया। निरंजनी के साथ आनंद अखाड़े के साधु-संत और नागा  संन्यासी भी स्नान के लिए पहुंचे थे। कोरोना संक्रमण के चलते इस बार अखाडो़ं ने भीड़ कम ही जुटाई। मेला प्रशासन ने भी प्रत्येक अखाडे़ से पांच हजार से अधिक की भीड़ न लाने का आग्रह किया था। लगभग आधे घंटे तक दोनों अखाडे़ हरकी पैडी़ पर रहे। इसके बाद बारी थी नागा संन्यासियों के सबसे बडे़ अखाडे़ जूना की। जूना अखाडे़ के साथ अग्नि, आह्वान और किन्नर अखाडे़ ने भी स्नान किया। अंत में स्नान करने पहुंचा महानिर्वाणी अखाडा़ और साथ में था अटल अखाडा़। सातों संन्यासी अखाडे़ जितनी देर भी हरकी पैडी़ पर रहे, गंगा तट पर अवधूती आभा बिखरी रही।

संन्यासियों के बाद तीनों बैरागी अणियों, निर्वाणी अणि, निर्मोही अणि व दिगंबर अणि, उनके 18 अखाडो़ं और 1200 खालसों ने अपने-अपने अध्यक्षों की अगुआई में स्नान किया। लाव-लश्कर बडा़ होने के कारण बैरागी संतों का स्नान काफी देर तक चला। हर कुंभ में बैरागी संतों की संख्या ही सबसे अधिक होती है। बैरागी अणियों के बाद पारंपरिक अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से सुसज्जित  बडा़ अखाडा़ उदासीन और नया अखाडा़ उदासीन के साधु-संत शाही स्नान के लिए पहुंचे। सबसे आखिर में स्नान किया निर्मल अखाडे़ के संत-महंतों ने और इसी के साथ संपन्न हुआ कुंभ का पहला शाही स्नान।

शाम की गंगा आरती के बाद हरकी पैडी़ को आम श्रद्धालुओं के लिए खोल दिया गया। हालांकि हम बैरागी अखाडो़ं के स्नान के बाद ही आफिस पहुंच चुके थे। खबरें भी लिखनी थी, इसलिए समय पर पहुंचना जरूरी था। एक-डेढ़ घंटा लगा होगा खबर लिखने में। फिर हमने होटल का रुख किया। खैर! आब सोने की तैयारी है। सुबह फिर हरकी पैडी़ का रुख करना है। कल चैत्र प्रतिपदा का पर्व स्नान है, इसलिए थोडा़ देर से भी पहुंचेंगे तो चलेगा। चलिए! अब हमें नींद आ रही है। आप भी नींद का मजा लीजिए। शुभ रात्रि!!!

The first royal bath of Kumbh has been completed on the new moon day.  We (myself and cinematographer partner Rajesh Barthalwal) have also returned to a tired hotel.  Had to spend the entire 12 hours standing up.  Nine hours of this was spent on everyone's paddies.  Then reached the office and wrote the news.  In such a situation, it was half past nine by reaching the hotel.  Even today, we have packed the food from the hotel near the office.  Now I feel a little relaxed.  However, this is not new to us.  In the Kumbh of 2010, we used to get tired and crushed, even then there was no time to breathe.

However!  Today, as soon as dawn, we had to go towards every paddy.  The royal bath was to begin at quarter to ten, so there was no hurry to reach.  We had decided at night to first go to the camp of Niranjani Akhara and take stock of the preparations to go for a bath there.  Because, the first number in the bathing order was that of Niranjani Akhade.  In this arena, Naga is considered to be the highest ascetic after Juna Akhade.  So, walk towards the cantonment of Akhada.  The Kumbh Mela administration was prohibiting the carrying of two-wheeler and four-wheelers, so despite being from the press, the police did not allow us to take Scooty.  We also hit a corner under the flyover before the entrance of Scooty Kankhal and walked towards the first floor.

The Naga monks were prostrating in the arena.  The makeup of the Naga ascetics is the ash (ash), so wherever it looks, the Naga is seen rubbing the ashes on the body.  The sound of bomb blasts was echoing in all four directions, so we went directly inside the camp.  Some interesting pictures were taken in the camera.  For a while, the atmosphere was there and then through the Dehradun highway, he turned to his body.  After about half an hour we reached our paddies.  Apart from the police, para military force and journalists, there was no one there.  The royal bath was to be held at Brahmakund, so the entire ghat was being cleaned.  We were standing on the Malaviya island on this side of Brahmakund.  At the same time, a coverage point was created for the media.

Exactly at ten o'clock in the royal style, Niranjani Akhade, with Lashkar, entered his paddi.  Along with Niranjani, the saints and Naga ascetics of Anand Akhara also reached for a bath.  This time due to the corona infection, the akhadon has reduced the crowd.  The fair administration also requested not to bring a crowd of more than five thousand from each arena.  For almost half an hour, both the accounts were on their paddies.  After this, it was the turn of Juna, the largest akha of Naga ascetics.  Agni, Awaan and Kinnar Akhade also took a bath along with Juna Akhade.  Finally, Mahanirvani Akhara reached to bathe and together was Atal Akhara.  As long as the seven saints stayed on their paddies, Avadhuti aura was scattered on the banks of the Ganges.

After the ascetics, the three Bairagi Ani, Nirvani Ani, Nirmohi Ani and Digambar Ani, their 18 Akhadons and 1200 Khalas took a bath under the leadership of their presidents.  The bathing of Bairagi saints lasted for a long time due to the fact that Lavar-Lashkar was very large.  The number of Bairagi saints is the highest in every Kumbh.  After the Bairagi Ani, the big akhada equipped with traditional weapons and weapons, the saints and saints of Naya Akhada Indifferent arrived for the royal bath.  Lastly, the saints and Mahants of Nirmal Akhada took a bath and with this the first royal bath of Kumbh was concluded.

After the Ganga Aarti of the evening, the harki padi was opened to the general devotees.  However, we had reached the office only after bathing in Bairagi Akhadon.  News was also to be written, so it was necessary to arrive on time.  It would have taken an hour and a half to write the news.  Then we headed to the hotel.  Well!  Now I am preparing to sleep.  Have to turn everyone's pad in the morning again.  Tomorrow is the festival of Chaitra Pratipada, so if you reach even a little late, it will work.  Let go!  Now we feel sleepy.  Enjoy your sleep too.  good night!!!
