आज शाम वृष लग्न में छह बजकर 45 मिनट पर भू-वैकुंठ बदरीनाथ धाम के कपाट शीतकाल के लिए बंद कर दिए गए। समुद्रतल से 3133 मीटर (10276 फीट) की ऊंचाई पर उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले में स्थित बदरीनाथ धाम के कपाट बंद करने की प्रक्रिया सुबह भगवान बदरी नारायण का फूलों से श्रृंगार करने के साथ शुरू हो गई थी। इसके लिए मंदिर को 20 कुंतल रंग-बिरंगे फूलों से दुल्हन की तरह सजाया गया था। कपाटबंदी की यह प्रक्रिया अपने आप में बडी़ विलक्षण होती है। इसका वर्णन शब्दों की सीमा में नहीं किया जा सकता। इस दौरान बदरीशपुरी का वातावरण इस कदर मनोहारी होता है कि वहां मौजूद श्रद्धालु सम्मोहित से हो जाते हैं।
इस पूरे घटनाक्रम को आपसे शेयर की मुख्य वजह यह है कि हमेशा की तरह इस बार भी कपाटबंदी की खबर मेरे द्वारा ही लिखी गई। यह सिलसिला वर्षों से चला आ रहा है। मैं चाहता हूं कि पहाड़ की इन गौरवमयी परंपराओं से आप भी परिचित हों। ये परंपराएं सीधे-सीधे पहाड़ की रोजी-रोटी से जुडी़ हैं। इन्हीं की बदौलत पहाड़ के इस जाटिल भूगोल में भी जीवन है। इसलिए मेरी कोशिश रहती है कि जितना भी संभव हो सके आपनी संस्कृति को देश-दुनिया की नजरों में लाने का प्रयास किया जाए। खैर! नित्य पूजाओं के बाद भगवान नारायण को दोपहर का भोग लगाया गया। यह दोपहर भी खास है, क्योंकि इस दोपहर में भगवान भोग के बाद विश्राम नहीं करते। दरअसल, दोपहर के भोग के बाद दो घंटे मंदिर के कपाट बंद रखे जाते हैं, लेकिन कपाटबंदी वाले दिन ऐसा नहीं होता और पूरे दिन मंदिर के कपाट खुले रहते हैं।
शाम को भगवान नारायण के तन से फूलों का श्रृंगार हटाकर उन्हें घृत कंबल ओढा़या गया। इस कंबल को देश के अंतिम गांव माणा की कुंआरी कन्याओं द्वारा बुना जाता है और फिर इस पर गाय के घी का लेपन होता है। यह घी बामणी गांव से आता है। अगली बार कपट खुलने पर इसी घृत कंबल के छोटे-छोटे टुकडे़ श्रद्धालुओं को प्रसाद स्वरूप बांटे जाते हैं। भगवान को घृत कंबल ओढा़ने के बाद एक विलक्षण परंपरा का निर्वाह होता है। धाम के मुख्य पुजारी (रावल ) भगवान नारायण की सखी का वेश धारण कर मंदिर परिसर स्थित मां लक्ष्मी के मंदिर में पहुंचते हैं और फिर मां लक्ष्मी की प्रतिमा को मंदिर के गर्भगृह में लाकर उसे शीतकाल के लिए भगवान नारायण के वामांग में विराजमान कर देते हैं। कपाट खुलने पर मां लक्ष्मी वापस अपने मंदिर में चली जाती हैं।
इसी दौरान गर्भगृह में स्थित बदरीश पंचायत से भगवान नारायण के प्रतिनिधि एवं बालसखा उद्धवजी, देवताओं के खजांची कुबेरजी व भगवान के वाहन गरुड़जी की भोगमूर्ति और आदि शंकराचार्य की गद्दी को बाहर लाया जाता है। शीतकाल में यही प्रतीक पांडुकेश्वर स्थित योग-ध्यान बदरी मंदिर और जोशीमठ स्थित नृसिंह बदरी मंदिर में विराजमान होते हैं। इस परंपरा का निर्वाह करने के बाद रावल ईश्वरी प्रसाद नंबूदरी ने मंदिर के कपाट शीतकाल के लिए बंद कर दिए। इस दौरान संपूर्ण बदरीशपुरी सेना और भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस के बैंड की सुमधुर लहरियों से गुंजायमान हो उठी। बैंड पर बज रही लोकधुन 'बेडू पाको बारामासा, नारैणा काफल पाको चैता' पर जब पारंपरिक वेश-भूषा में सजी बामणी व माणा गांव की जनजातीय महिलाओं ने नृत्य किया तो तन ही नहीं मन भी झूम उठे। आध्यात्मिक वातावारण में संस्कृति का यह मनोहारी रूप भावविभोर कर देने वाला था।
अब कल 21 नवंबर की सुबह भगवान बदरी नारायण के प्रतिनिधि उद्धवजी, देवताओं के खजांची कुबेरजी व भगवान के वाहन गरुड़जी की भोग मूर्ति उत्सव डोली में विराजमान होकर आदि शंकराचार्य की गद्दी के साथ पांडुकेश्वर के लिए प्रस्थान करेंगी। शीतकाल के दौरान उद्धवजी व कुबेरजी की पूजा योग-ध्यान बदरी मंदिर पांडुकेश्वर और गरुड़जी व शंकराचार्य गद्दी की पूजा-अर्चना नृसिंह बदरी मंदिर जोशीमठ में होती है। गरुड़जी व शंकराचार्य गद्दी रावल ईश्वरी प्रसाद नंबूदरी की अगुआई में 22 नवंबर को नृसिंह बदरी मंदिर पहुंचेगी। इसके साथ ही विधिवत रूप से भगवान बदरी नारायण की शीतकालीन पूजाएं शुरू हो जाएंगी। ...तो आइए! प्रेम एवं श्रद्धा से बोलिए, जय बदरी विशाल।

The doors of Bhu-Vaikunth Badrinath Dham were closed for the winter season at 6.45 pm in the Taurus ascendant. The process of closing the doors of Badrinath Dham, located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3133 meters (10276 ft) above sea level, had begun in the morning with the adornment of Lord Badri Narayan with flowers. The main reason to share this whole incident with you is that as always, this time also the news of anti-fraud was written by me. This has been going on for years. I want you to get acquainted with these glorious traditions of the mountain. These traditions are directly related to the livelihood of the mountain. Due to these, there is life in this complex geography of the mountain. Therefore, it is my endeavor that as much as possible, efforts should be made to bring your culture in the eyes of the country and the world. So! After the daily worship, Lord Narayan was offered afternoon bhog. This afternoon is also special, because in this afternoon the Lord does not rest after the enjoyment. Actually, the doors of the temple are kept closed for two hours after the afternoon bhog, but this does not happen on the day of kapatbandi and the doors of the temple remain open for the whole day.
In the evening, after removing the decoration of flowers from the body of Lord Narayan, he was covered with a blanket of ghee. This blanket is woven by the unmarried girls of Mana, the last village of the country and then coated with cow's ghee. This ghee comes from Bamni village. Next time when the fraud is uncovered, small pieces of this ghee blanket are distributed to the devotees as prasad. A unique tradition is followed after covering the Ghrita blanket to the deity. The chief priest (Raval) of the Dham, disguised as Lord Narayan's friend, reaches the temple of Goddess Lakshmi located in the temple premises and then brings the idol of Goddess Lakshmi to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and makes it sit in the Vamang of Lord Narayana for the winter. . When the doors are opened, Goddess Lakshmi goes back to her temple.
In the meantime, Uddhavji, the representative of Lord Narayana, the treasurer of the gods, Kuberji, the treasurer of the gods, the Bhogmurti of Garudji, the vehicle of God, and the seat of Adi Shankaracharya are brought out from the Badrish Panchayat located in the sanctum sanctorum. In winter, this symbol is seated in the yoga-dhyana Badri temple located at Pandukeshwar and the Narsingh Badri temple located in Joshimath. After following this tradition, Rawal Ishwari Prasad Namboodiri closed the doors of the temple for the winter. During this, the entire Badrishpuri resonated with the melodious waves of the bands of the Army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. When the tribal women of Bamani and Mana villages, dressed in traditional costumes, danced on the folk tune 'Bedu Pako Baramasa, Naraina Kafal Pako Chaita' playing on the band, not only the body but the mind also jumped. This beautiful form of culture in the spiritual atmosphere was mesmerizing.
Now tomorrow on the morning of November 21, Uddhavji, the representative of Lord Badri Narayan, Kuberji, the treasurer of the gods and the Bhog idol of Garudji, the vehicle of God, will be seated in the festival doli and will leave for Pandukeshwar with the throne of Adi Shankaracharya. During winter, worship of Uddhavji and Kuberji takes place in the Nrisingh Badri temple Joshimath, worship of Uddhavji and Kuberji, yoga-meditation, Badri temple, Pandukeshwar and Garudji and Shankaracharya Gaddi. Under the leadership of Garudji and Shankaracharya Gaddi Rawal Ishwari Prasad Namboodiri, Narsingh will reach Badri temple on November 22.
