जंगल में गणतंत्र का उल्लास

आज नींद सुबह ठीक पौने पांच बजे खुल गई थी, लेकिन वन क्षेत्र में नेटवर्क न होने के कारण रेकी हीलिंग की आनलाइन क्लास अटेंड नहीं कर पाया। हालांकि, आदतानुसार मैंने एक घंटे जागकर ध्यान का अभ्यास जरूर किया, लेकिन लेटे-लेटे। इसके बाद मैं सो गया और ठीक आठ बजे उठा। गणतंत्र दिवस पर मीडिया कर्मियों का अवकाश रहता है, इसलिए बेफिक्री थी। लेकिन, विधानसभा चुनाव होने के कारण इन दिनों खबरों के लिए मारामारी तो रहती ही है। आखिर डिजिटल डेस्क का पेट जो भरना है। इसलिए तय हुआ कि दो साथी डिजिटल डेस्क को सहयोग करने के लिए आफिस जाएंगे और दो जरूरी सामान के लिए बाजार। दो लोग विश्राम गृह में ही रुकेंगे।
चाय के साथ ब्रेड और भुजिया का नाश्ता करने के बाद नौ बजे के आसपास सतीजी व केदार आफिस के लिए निकल पडे़, जबकि सुमन और बड़थ्वालजी कुछ देर बाद बाजार के लिए। असल में हमने तय किया था कि दिन के भोजन में चावल, अरहर की दाल व पहाडी़ पालक की सब्जी बनवाएंगे। शाम के लिए चावल, मटन व मछली के पकौडे़ बनवाने का कार्यक्रम था। कल सुबह के नाश्ते के लिए भी कुछ न कुछ लाना ही था। अब मैं और किरण भाई ही विश्राम गृह में रह गए थे, इसलिए हम आंगन में पेड़-पौधों के बीच टहलने लगे। तकरीबन डेढ़ घंटे बाद सुमन व बड़थ्वालजी लौटे। हमने कार से सामान उतारकर विश्राम गृह के केयर टेकर से खाना बनाने के लिए कह दिया। स्वयं हम कुछ दूर तक जंगल में टहलने के लिए निकल पडे़।
ढाई बजे के आसपास भोजन तैयार हो गया। हम तीनों ने गर्मागर्म भोजन किया और फिर आराम करने लगे। आफिस गए साथी अभी लौटे नहीं थे, इसलिए उनके हिस्से का भोजन फ्रिज में रखवा दिया। कुछ देर बाद केयर टेकर ने चाय के लिए पूछा तो हमने 'हां' कह दिया। पांच बजे के आसपास आफिस गए साथी भी आ गए और उनके भोजन करने के साथ ही शाम के भोजन की भी तैयारी होने लगी। इसके अलावा खबरों को लेकर माथापच्ची और अन्य विषयों पर चर्चा भी चलती रही। मछली के पकौडे़ तैयार हो चुके थे। शौकीन साथियों के लिए अंगूर की बेटी का इंतजाम भी था। उनके साथ हमने भी मछली के पकौडो़ं का जायका लिया और फिर पास ही फायर क्रू स्टेशन की ओर कैंप फायर के लिए निकल पडे़। वहां पहले से ही अलाव के चारों ओर घेरा बनाकर कुर्सियां रखी हुई थीं।
ठंडियों के मौसम में इस तरह आग सेंकने का मजा ही कुछ और है। इस आनंद को सिर्फ महसूस किया जा सकता है। अभी पांच-सात मिनट ही हुए होंगे कि बारिश की झडी़ लग गई। हालांकि, अलाव के सामने बैठकर ये बारिश भी सुहानी लग रही थी। तकरीबन 15 मिनट बाद बारिश हल्की हुई तो हम भोजन के लिए वापस विश्राम गृह की ओर चल पडे़। इस बीच मटन-चावल भी तैयार हो गया था। हमने भोजन शुरू ही किया था कि कांग्रेस व भाजपा के प्रत्याशियों की दूसरी सूची भी जारी हो गई। अब चुनौती उनके बारे में जानकारी जुटाने की थी। मैं 'चुनौती' इसलिए कह रहा हूं, क्योंकि यहां नेटवर्क ही नहीं है।
आंगन में हालांकि हल्का-फुल्का और कभी-कभार ठीक-ठाक नेटवर्क भी मिल जा रहा है, लेकिन जंगल का इलाका होने के कारण रात के वक्त देर तक बाहर रहना खतरनाक भी हो सकता था। कारण, गुलदार (लेपर्ड) कब सामने आ धमके, कहा नहीं जा सकता। हाथी के आने की आशंका भी बराबर बनी रहती है। उस पर मुश्किल यह कि भीतर बैठकर न तो खबरें भेजी जा सकती थीं, न प्रत्याशियों के बारे में जानकारी ही जुटाई जा सकती थी। इतना ही नहीं, स्टेशनों पर अपने रिपोर्टर साथियों से भी संपर्क नहीं साधा जा सकता था। इसलिए आंगन में जाए बगैर काम भी नहीं चलने वाला था। लिहाजा अकेले जाने के बजाय हम दो लोग आंगन में जा रहे थे। एक की ड्यूटी खबरें पता करने व भेजने की थी तो दूसरे की निगरानी करने की। यह जिम्मेदारी मैंने संभाली।
डर तो लग ही रहा था, लेकिन बरामदे के एक कोने में चुपचाप लेटे कुत्ते को देखकर राहत भी महसूस हो रही थी। कुत्ते की सूंघने की शक्ति बहुत तेज होती है और वह दूर से खतरे का अंदाज लगा लेता है। खैर! जैसे-तैसे जानकारी जुटाकर व खबरें भेजकर हमने राहत की सांस ली और इस समय बिस्तर में आ गए हैं। रात के एक बज चुके हैं और सुबह नौ बजे यहां से सीधे आफिस के लिए प्रस्थान करना है। सो, जल्दी उठना तो पडे़गा ही। हमने केयर टेकर को बता दिया है कि सुबह आलू-प्याज के पराठे, भुजिया और दही खाएंगे। दही हम दिन में बाजार से ले आए थे। हम तीन लोग एक सूट में हैं और दो लोग दूसरे सूट में। बड़थ्वालजी ने बैठक में सोफे को ही बैड बना रखा है। पास ही इलेक्ट्रिक हीटर भी जल रहा है, इसलिए ठंड लगने का तो सवाल ही नहीं उठता। बहरहाला! अब सो लिया जाए। बाकी किस्सा कल सुनाऊंगा। तब तक के लिए नमस्कार!!

Republic joy in the jungle

Today I woke up at 5.45 am, but due to lack of network in the forest area, I could not attend the online classes of Reiki Healing. However, as a habit, I did practice meditation after waking up for an hour, but lying down. After that I went to sleep and woke up at exactly eight o'clock. Media personnel have a holiday on Republic Day, so there was carelessness. But, due to the assembly elections being held, there is always a tussle for the news these days. After all, the stomach of the digital desk is to be filled. Therefore it was decided that two companions would go to the office to support the digital desk and market for two essential goods. Two people will stay in the rest house itself.
After having breakfast of bread and bhujia with tea, around 9 o'clock Satiji and Kedar left for the office, while Suman and Barthwalji left for the market after sometime. In fact, we had decided that we would make rice, tur dal and hill spinach vegetables for the day's meal. There was a program to make pakodas of rice, mutton and fish for the evening. Had to bring something for breakfast yesterday morning. Now Kiran Bhai and I were left in the rest house, so we started walking among the trees and plants in the courtyard. After about an hour and a half, Suman and Barthwalji returned. We unloaded the luggage from the car and asked the care taker of the rest house to cook the food. We ourselves went out for a walk in the forest for some distance.

The food was ready around 2.30 pm. The three of us had a hot meal and then started taking rest. The colleagues who had gone to the office had not returned yet, so their portion of the food was kept in the fridge. After sometime the caretaker asked for tea and we said 'yes'. Around five o'clock the colleagues who had gone to the office also came and along with having their food, preparations for the evening meal also started. Apart from this, discussions on news and other topics also continued. The fish dumplings were ready. There was also an arrangement for the daughter of grapes for the fond companions. With them we also tasted the fish dumplings and then headed out to the nearby fire crew station for the campfire. There were already chairs placed around the bonfire.
There is nothing more fun than baking like this in the winter season. This joy can only be felt. It must have been only five-seven minutes that the rain started. However, sitting in front of the bonfire, this rain was also looking pleasant. After about 15 minutes it rained lightly, so we headed back to the rest house for food. Meanwhile mutton-rice was also ready. We had started the meal when the second list of Congress and BJP candidates was also released. Now the challenge was to gather information about them. I am saying 'challenge' because there is no network here.
Although light and sometimes decent networks are available in the courtyard, being out late at night could also be dangerous due to the forest area. The reason, when the leopard (leopard) came to the fore, cannot be said. There is also the possibility of an elephant coming. The difficulty on him was that neither news could be sent sitting inside nor information could be gathered about the candidates. Not only this, even his reporter colleagues at the stations could not be contacted. So without going to the courtyard, even the work was not going to work. So instead of going alone, two of us were going to the courtyard. The duty of one was to track and send the news and to monitor the other. I took this responsibility.
There was fear, but seeing the dog lying quietly in a corner of the verandah, there was also a feeling of relief. A dog has a very strong sense of smell and can sense danger from a distance. So! As soon as we gathered information and sent news, we breathed a sigh of relief and are now in bed. It is one o'clock in the night and at nine o'clock in the morning we have to leave directly for the office. So, you have to get up early. We have told the caretaker that in the morning we will eat potato-onion parathas, bhujia and curd. We had brought curd from the market during the day. We are three people in one suit and two people in another. Barthwalji has made the sofa a bed in the living room. Electric heater is also burning nearby, so there is no question of getting cold.
