इसलिए खास है मेरा गांव

मेरा गांव भलगांव पर्यटन स्थल तो नहीं है, लेकिन पर्यटक जिन नजारों के दीदार को पहाड़ में आते हैं, उनका दीदार मेरे गांव से भी होता था। जब आसमान साफ होता, तब मेरे ओबरे (भूतल का कमरा) और मंज्यूल़ (प्रथम तल पर स्थित कमरा) की देहरी से हिमालय की चौखंभा रेंज चांदी की तरह चमकती हुई साफ नजर आती थी। मेरी नानी जब भलगांव आई होती थी, तब देहरी के पास बैठकर चौखंभा की ओर उंगली का इशारा कर मुझसे कहती, "हपार देख, शिवजीकु कैलास कन च चम्म चमकणुS" (उधर देख शिवजी का कैलास कैसे चमचमा रहा है)। सचमुच! होता भी ऐसा ही खूबसूरत था वो नजारा।
ओबरे व मंज्यूल़ की देहरी से पहाड़ की चोटी पर स्थित डांडा नागराजा (ऐसा पर्वत शिखर, जिस पर नागराज विराजमान हैं) का प्रसिद्ध मंदिर भी साफ दिखाई देता था। डांडा नागराजा का मंदिर पौडी़ जिले के कोट ब्लाक की बणलस्यूं (बणेलस्यूं) पट्टी में समुद्रतल से छह हजार (या इससे अधिक) फीट की ऊंचाई पर एक निर्जन पहाडी़ की चोटी में स्थित है। लसेरा गांव की सरहद से लगा यह मंदिर सिल्सू गांव के ठीक ऊपर पड़ता है। जिस पहाडी़ के शीर्ष पर मंदिर है, उसकी सतह पर गंगा और नयार नदी (नारद गंगा) का संगम होता है। यह जगह व्यासचट्टी नाम से प्रसिद्ध है। मंदिर से इसकी खूबसूरती देखती ही बनती है।
नागराजा मेरे मामाकोट (ननिहाल) के क्षेत्रपाल (क्षेत्र रक्षक) देवता हैं। इसलिए मेरा उनसे मामा-भांजा का रिश्ता है। संयोग एक बार मुझे भी डांडा नागराजा जाने का सौभाग्य मिला है, जबकि मामाकोट नौगांव स्थित नागराजा के मंदिर मैं कई बार गया हूं। इसी तरह हमारे घर से भैरवगढी़ पर भी स्पष्ट नजर जाती है। भैरवगढी़ गढ़वाल़ की बावन गढि़यों में से एक है। कीर्तिखाल की पहाडी़ (लांगूल पर्वत) के शीर्ष पर स्थित कालनाथ भैरव का यह मंदिर भलगांव से तीन घंटे की पैदल दूरी पर स्थित है। भैरवगढी़ का असली नाम लंगूरगढ़ है। इसी के नाम पर हमारी पट्टी का नाम लंगूर पडा़। गढ़ राजवंश के दौर में लंगूरगढ़ गढ़वाल का मजबूत किला रहा है। मेरा गांव घाटी में स्थित होने के कारण बेहद गर्म है। लेकिन, सर्दियों में यहां इतनी ही ठंड भी पड़ती है। नमी वाले स्थानों पर पाला ऐसे जम जाता है, जैसे किसी ने कांच की प्लेट बिछा ली हो।
मेरे गांव के दक्षिण भाग में बरसूडी़ (मेरा मूलगांव) के पास एक ऐसी पहाडी़ है, जिसे पांडवों से जोड़कर देखा जाता है। इसका नाम है पकड़ज्वलि़ का डांडा (पकौडि़यों का पर्वत)। यहां बहुतायत में ऐसे पत्थर मौजूद हैं, जो पकौडी़, कढा़ई, करछी आदि का आकार लिए हुए हैं। मिथक है कि जब पांडव उत्तराखंड आए होंगे, तब वे इस स्थान पर भी कुछ समय ठहरे थे। भीमसेन को पकौडे़ बहुत पसंद थे, इसलिए यहां माता कुंती उनके लिए पकौडे़ बनाती थीं। कालांतर में शेष बची पकौडि़यों और बर्तनों ने पत्थरों का आकार ले लिया। अगर पकड़ज्वलि़ का डांडा देश-दुनिया की नजर में होता तो निश्चित रूप से यहां सैलानियों का तांता लगा रहता।

My village Bhalgaon is not a tourist destination, but the sights which tourists come to see in the mountain were also visible from my village. When the skies were clear, the Chaukhamba range of the Himalayas, shining like silver, could be seen clearly from the doors of my obare (ground floor) and manjul (room on the first floor). When my maternal grandmother used to come to Bhalgaon, she would sit near the dehri and point her finger towards the chaukhambha and say to me, "Hapar dekh, Shivjiku Kailas kan cha chamm chamkanuS" (Look how Shiva's Kailas is shining there). Really! It was such a beautiful sight.
The famous temple of Danda Nagaraja (a mountain peak on which Nagaraja is seated) situated on the top of the mountain was clearly visible from the Dehri of Obare and Manjul. The temple of Danda Nagaraja is situated on top of an uninhabited hill at an altitude of six thousand (or more) feet above sea level in the Banelsun belt of Kot block of Pauri district. This temple, situated on the outskirts of Lasera village, falls just above the village of Silsu. On the top of the hill on which the temple is situated, there is a confluence of the Ganges and the Nayaar river (Narad Ganga) on its surface. This place is famous by the name Vyaschatti. Its beauty can be seen from the temple.
Nagaraja is the Kshetrapal (field protector) deity of my Mamakot (Nanihal). That's why I have an uncle-nephew relationship with him. Incidentally, I have also had the privilege of visiting Danda Nagraja once, whereas I have been to the temple of Nagraja located at Mamakot Naugaon many times. Similarly, Bhairavgarhi is also clearly visible from our house. Bhairavgarhi is one of the fifty-two garhs of Garhwal. This temple of Kalnath Bhairav, situated on the top of Kirtikhal ki hill (Langul Parvat), is situated at a three hour walk from Bhalgaon. The real name of Bhairavgarhi is Langurgarh. It is after this that the name of our belt was named Langur. Langurgarh has been a strong fort of Garhwal during the period of Garh dynasty. My village is extremely hot as it is located in the valley. But, in winters it gets very cold here. In places of moisture, the frost settles as if someone has laid a glass plate.
In the southern part of my village, near Barsoodi (my native village), there is such a hill, which is seen connecting with the Pandavas. Its name is Pakadjawli ka Danda (mountain of dumplings). Such stones are present in abundance here, which are in the shape of dumplings, kadhai, ladle etc. Myth is that when the Pandavas came to Uttarakhand, they stayed at this place for some time. Bhimsen was very fond of pakodas, so here Mata Kunti used to make pakodas for him. Over time, the remaining dumplings and utensils took the shape of stones. If the catch had been in the eyes of the country and the world, then surely there would have been an influx of tourists here.
